Free healthcare funded by goodwill

"I’ve never seen the NHS so stressed. It’s fuelled by the goodwill of its workforce, rather than financial investment. But this goodwill is drying up. You see it, feel it, hear it everywhere. These people are tired and fed up. And without them, the NHS is broken."

Jeremy Hunt is an extremely clever man. He knows if he doesn't pump money into the NHS it will either snap, or the workforce will work extra hard for free. Currently the latter is prevailing, however by destroying healthcare professional's moral, he's hoping if he pushing the NHS to it's breaking point - privatisation will conquer.

By portraying healthcare workers as money-fueled, heartless creatures who would let patients die rather than work a 'little more for less', he convinces the public that the NHS is a waste of time and not worth saving. Through cutting basic funding, Hunt makes it virtually impossible for us to do our jobs. The knock-on affect of this means that countless healthcare professionals have to work tirelessly to maintain a high level of care without any resources or support. It means we're tired, we're failing and we will eventually give up.

What about tired Junior Doctors?

Currently, David Cameron thinks the NHS "has the resources it needs and that is why we are seeing it treat more patients, more drugs being delivered, more tests being carried out. It is a much stronger NHS...". No, David, this the goodwill of thousands struggling to keep their heads above water. Would you sit back and let patients wait hours for treatment, because you didn't have the resources to properly care for them? No, because caring humans cannot watch those in pain, suffer. They would do everything within their power to provide the best quality of care possible. If that means being 3 members of staff down, you end up performing the roles of 4 people. As individuals it's impossible to carry that much workload and it won't be viable for much longer.

It's fine, Jeremy, ofcourse 1 person can do the jobs of 4 people in the same amount of time

But, that's the whole point of this; if the Tory's destroy the NHS, it becomes fully privatised, saving the government billions. Economically, the NHS does not make financial sense and soon, without funding, it will break - forcing the public to have healthcare insurance which by turn pumps money back into the healthcare sector - and the government don't have to pay for it. But what happens to the millions of people who cannot afford insurance?
